Trip Description Scuba divers delight as we explore God's underwater world on the beautiful reefs and wrecks of Fort Lauderdale.
Your scuba dive trip starts with a devotional relating to creationism and environmental stewardship. You will also learn of God’s creation with an introduction to the coral reef ecology and fish identification of the reefs off shore. Most of our reefs and wrecks are within a half mile from shore, and they range in depth from 30' to 120' deep. For your Reef Ministries Scuba Adventure you will have a two-tank dive; usually a wreck dive followed by a shallow reef dive. The trip price includes tanks and weights, however if you need rental equipment our friends at Pro Dive can issue that to you right at the shop before you get on the boat.
The Pro Diver II is a spacious 60’ vessel with plenty of space for sunbathing, shade, a galley with beverages and snacks, and two restrooms. Although it is rated for 38 divers, Pro Dive limits it to 28 divers for comfort.

FAQs
What will we see on the reef?
You will see many tropical reef fish indigenous to Florida and the Caribbean - parrotfish, snapper, damselfish, angelfish, stingray, wrasse, tang, etc. These include adults and juveniles, individuals and schools. You will also see an assortment of hard and soft corals including sea fans and sponges. All of the wrecks have amazing growth, and the reef ledges have large three to seven-foot reliefs.
Who can participate in a scuba day trip? To participate in our scuba day trips, we ask that you be in good health and be prepared to dive. This is an interpretive underwater adventure, the more one is comfortable with the activity of scuba diving, the better the experience will be to absorb the beauty of God's underwater marine life. If you have not been diving in a while (over a year) you may want to get a refresher first. If it has been over two years since you have been diving, you will be required to take a refresher course. If you are over the age of 40, are obese, lead a sedentary lifestyle, smoke or have high blood pressure or any other questionable health consideration for diving, I recomend that you get a physical to see if diving is an activity you should be participating in. If you have friends or loved ones who would like to come along but they are not divers, they certainly can come out as riders. They will get the same devotional and presentation, and they can enjoy the comforts of the two-story Pro Diver II while you are diving. Please call if you have questions regarding yours or other's abilities to scuba dive.
What about motion sickness and waves? The boat will not run trips if the seas are rough. The captain makes the judgment early in the morning to determine if the trip is running or not due to weather. There are some people who are prone to getting motion sickness even in the mildest of conditions. There are some over-the-counter medications for motion/sea sickness, and it is always best to consult with your physician to see if that medication is right for you.
*Note: If the trip is cancelled due to weather, you may choose to reschedule or to be refunded.
