Trip Description Perfect for swimmers and non-swimmers, from kids to grandparents, the Reef Ministries Snorkeling/Glassbottom Boat trip is an ideal Christian outdoor activity for the whole family.
Your fun-filled excursion starts with a devotional relating to creationism and environmental stewardship. You will also learn of God’s creation with an introduction to coral reef ecology and fish identification. On the boat ride out to the reefs, you will get a narrated tour of the famous “Venice of America” Ft. Lauderdale Intracoastal Waterway. Then, only 1/4 mile offshore in 15 feet of water, you will explore the beautiful reefs of South Florida. You and your group may snorkel, or for those who wish to stay on board, they may view the reef and fish through the glassbottom panels. Snorkelers will be supplied masks, snorkels, fins and snorkeling vests. We will even instruct you on how to snorkel if you have never experienced it before.
The Pro Diver II is a spacious 60’ vessel with plenty of space for sunbathing, shade, a galley with beverages and snacks, and two restrooms. Monday through Friday the two and a half hour boat trip arrives back to the dock at noon, just in time for lunch. On Saturdays the extended snorkel tour arrives back to the dock just before 5:00p.m.

FAQs
What will we see on the reef?
You will see many tropical reef fish indigenous to Florida and the Caribbean - parrotfish, snapper, damselfish, angelfish, stingray, wrasse, tang, etc. These include adults and juveniles, individuals and schools. You will also see an assortment of hard and soft corals including sea fans and sponges.
Who can participate in snorkeling? To participate in snorkeling, we ask that you know how to swim and be comfortable in the water. This is an interpretive adventure, the more one is comfortable with the activity of snorkeling, the better the experience will be to absorb the beauty of God's underwater marine life. Please call if you have questions regarding yours or other's abilities to snorkel.
What about motion sickness and waves? The boat will not run snorkeling trips if the seas are even moderately rough. The captain makes the judgment early in the morning to determine if the trip is running or not due to weather. There are some people who are prone to getting motion sickness even in the mildest of conditions - on a boat that is called sea sickness. There are some over-the-counter medications for motion/sea sickness, and it is always best to consult with your physician to see if that medication is right for you.
Where should we park our car? There are many places to choose from. First, is the free parking located at Pro Dive. That lot tends to fill up quickly, then you may park at several neighboring beach parking pay lots for $10 to $12. You may also use the valet at the Courtyard by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Beach for $15
We are coming from out of town. Where can we worship on Sunday? I would be delighted to have you join me for worship services at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. They have both contemporary and traditional services to choose from.
